Brandywine traces its roots back to when the founders worked in the labeling industry for some of the largest firms operating at that time. Recognizing there were complex requirements and specialized challenges to labeling chemical products that other companies had yet to address, we set about developing a new line of products to meet those needs.

We knew we were on the right path in October 1997, when we were awarded  our first patent for what eventually became our Twin-Tag® line of products. By December of 1999 the awarding of our second patent covering the flagship Poly-Twin® family of label products, along with a growing list of very satisfied customers, cemented the company’s value and we continued to focus exclusively on regulatory compliance labeling.

Understanding the possibilities presented by full print-on-demand platforms, we established Brandywine Drumlables LLC and set about the task of crafting a solution to each component of labeling in the chemical industry: labels, software and hardware. With a proven line of laser printable polyester labels serving as the “first leg of the stool,” we then introduced a labeling software suite along with computer hardware to complete the triumvirate. Though originally designing for the monochrome laser and thermal devices available at the time, the business really took off with the introduction of color laser and inkjet devices. These technological breakthroughs worked flawlessly with our Poly-Twin® line of products and inspired the founders to create full fledged print-on-demand platforms for our industrial chemical clients.

When the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) standards were put in place in 2013, Brandywine was in a unique position to assist our clients with implementation of full color print on demand platforms. We initially assisted European union countries with the introduction of the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) standards and continued on throughout the Asia Pacific region. By the time the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) adopted GHS standards in 2015, Brandywine Drumlabels had become synonymous with high quality labeling solutions for the chemical packaging industry.

Fast forward to today and the evolution of ever faster and more reliable full color printing devices coupled with our improved label coating technology allows Brandywine’s momentum and growth to continue. Our latest breakthroughs, which enable our clients to print high quality, durable B to C Prime labels, position Brandywine Prime™ to make the same phenomenal impact in the prime labeling marketplace as we did in industrial drum labeling.
